Personal Developmental Process

Personal development is the growth and change in a person’s personality, values, and self-concept. This process can refer to how people educate themselves and others to become more aware of their behaviors, knowledge, and beliefs (Zafar, 2020). People can learn the importance of being non-judgmental and not judging others too quickly. This lesson is very important for someone right now because people are in a position where they have to make decisions about who is worthy or not worthy of being on their team. In reflecting on one’s life, one can see how the developmental process has shaped them.

The abilities and predispositions formed in this process reveal qualities in an individual’s personality that have developed throughout history throughout human society. Cognition of the surrounding reality man carries out since childhood with the help of the immediate environment of adults. Thus, we can rightly say that the process of education plays a crucial role in the development of personality. Each person must understand how certain qualities were formed to use them effectively.

Adult Developmental Conflicts

Adult developmental conflicts are something that all adults experience and they are the most common types of adult developmental problems. They are often caused by biological, psychological, and social factors. It is important to realize that they are not identical to understanding adult developmental conflicts (Xia et al., 2018). These conflicts occur in three different areas: work, family, and personal relationships.

Work is one of the most important places where conflicts arise because that is where people spend most of their time. As a manager, I am caring and sensitive to my employees. I am willing to come to the rescue anytime and discuss my charges’ difficulties and problems. Sometimes I can be straightforward, which can cause conflicts, but this quality helps me not to be hypocritical and evaluate everyone equally. I am willing to step out of my comfort zone for the sake of my employees, which is also very important in personnel management.

Family can be a source of stress in an adult’s life if they do not have a good relationship with their parents or siblings. In my family, conflicts often could have been avoided with calm conversation. No matter how much I tried, my relatives did not want to solve problems calmly. That is why I made it a rule that all issues arising in my future family would be resolved through conversations. That way, I could avoid arguments and build an understanding family.

Learning Style

Learning style is a habit based on the individual characteristics of the learner, the dominant way of mastering the learning material, a consequence of innate characteristics and qualities acquired in the learning process. Each person learning a skill combines different learning styles. Some people have one dominant style and use others to a lesser degree, and some use different styles in different circumstances.

My learning styles are reflective, sensory, verbal, and sequential. My reflective teaching method is dominant and involves the student using his or her strengths and the best practices of peers that he or she can apply to his or her learning. I base my learning not only on my past experiences but also on the experiences of my acquaintances and relatives. My weakness can come from taking a long time to process information, leading to broken deadlines. I try to cope with this weakness to be as efficient as possible at my job. As a sensory person, I prefer to deal with concrete, practical and procedural information.

I primarily focus on facts and conceptual, innovative, and theoretical information. This trait is positive because if I pay attention to superfluous information, the main information can get sidetracked. As a verbal learner, I use verbal techniques in writing and speaking, such as taking notes or saying information out loud. These activities help me learn information much better and become the most effective student possible. Having a sequential learning style, I prefer to receive information presented linearly. I gather information piece by piece to see the big picture. These actions help me understand the material as clearly as possible so that I do not have gaps in my learning.

Personality Type and Changes

Personality type is a psychological concept that describes a person’s overall personality style. It is the first step in understanding a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Personality types are considered stable throughout life (Wiens, 2018). However, personality changes can occur due to environmental influences, stress levels, and age. A study of college students found that introvert and extrovert personality traits change differently over time (Wiens, 2018). It is important to remember that people’s personality types do not limit their potential or opportunities for growth. They help people better understand themselves and others.

The four main personality types are introverts, extroverts, ambiverts, and intuitive thinkers. Both positive and negative traits are associated with each, but all four types have strengths and areas for improvement (Wiens, 2018). To succeed in life, you must first understand personality types and how they change. While some are likely to remain the same throughout life, others are constantly changing and evolving. However, it can be difficult for people to understand their type.

I was given an introverted, feeling, thinking, and judging personality type. People with the ISTJ personality type are responsible and organized and strive to create and maintain order in the systems and institutions in which they work. They are known for being reliable, accurate, and orderly and usually have procedures for every process. ISTJs strive to maintain public order and standards and tend to uphold traditions, rules, and other policies set forth by the company. As introverts, ISTJs are team players who always seek ways to contribute to the company’s success. I like to spend time alone or with small groups of people, I know well.

I prioritize facts and details over ideas and concepts and tend to make decisions based on logic and reason. I prefer organization and careful planning of all events in my life. I pay much attention to the little things, making me seem too picky. I am most comfortable when I am familiar with my surroundings and rely on past experiences to help me make decisions. People with my personality type focus on proven methods that are successful in getting results and value practice to build confidence by developing their skills. ISTJ types are diligent and persistent until they achieve a goal or objective. They prefer a logical and methodical approach to finding solutions and rely on details to ensure the accuracy of their work.

In the workplace, ISTJ personalities are reliable, meticulous, and focused. They take deadlines seriously and work best when they take a step-by-step approach to completing a task. Order and stability are important to ISTJ types who thrive in a structured work environment with clear expectations. Although they prefer to work independently, they value teamwork if roles are clearly defined, and their teammates are consistent and reliable.
